Second victory in a few hours for UAE Team ADQ. After the National ITT title won by Safiya Alsayegh in the United Arab Emirates this morning, in the afternoon came the beautiful sprint of Sofia Bertizzolo who won the Trofeo Oro in Euro in Montignoso (Massa), in Italy. A success that crowned the wonderful teamwork of the whole team.

Urska Pintar, Alena Ivanchenko, Maria Novolodskaia and Linda Zanetti did an exemplary job. They were always in the thick of the action. They were all in the group of around 30 riders that escaped after the first climb of La Fortezza. After the forcing on the second climb, Bertizzolo tried to escape with Eleonora Gasparrini, then joined by Greta Marturano, but they were caught. Then in the final the preparation of the sprint and the wonderful sprint of Sofia Bertizzolo that can return to celebrate a victory. Young Alena Ivanchenko finished in seventh place.

Sofia Bertizzolo said: "I’m very happy for this victory and especially because the team worked perfectly. We tried to anticipate, to go away in a breakaway in the final, although then they caught us, I still managed to make a great sprint and win. I dedicate this success to the whole team. Because today the team behaved perfectly, both riders and staff, as in every race, and today being able to win is a satisfaction for everyone".
