Tadej Pogačar dominates Strade Bianche

A victory from another era. Tadej Pogačar took the Strade Bianche after a 50km solo breakaway.

The magnificent landscapes of Tuscany inspired the Slovenian star to paint a cycling masterpiece: the UAE Team Emirates rider attacked 50 km from the finish on a downhill section of the Monte Sante Marie gravel sector, crushing the resistance of all his rivals. No one had ever triumphed in the Sienese gravel race by attacking from such a distance (the longest winning action was by Alexandr Kolobnev in 2007, 19.4 km). Behind Pogačar came Alejandro Valverde followed by Kasper Asgreen.
