Dominant performance of UAE Team Emirates at Trofeo Laigueglia, classic race of the Italian calendar at the beginning of the season. A choral attack allowed the team to conquer first, second and third position of the podium with a great show of strength. The Slovenian had already sacrificed himself in the lead during the various laps of the circuit including the climb of Colla Micheri (2km at 8.2%), before gathering energy and succeeding in rejoining the leading trio composed by teammates Juan Ayuso (2nd), Alessandro Covi (3rd) and Lorenzo Rota (Wanty-Intermarche).
